For Dough
  • All purpose flour 2 cups
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Yogurt 2 tbsp
  • Butter 2 tbsp
  • Lukewarm Water to kneadknead
For Filling
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Carrot 1 (thinly sliced)
  • Cabbage ½ cup (thinly sliced)
  • Boiled chicken 1 bowl
  • Soya sauce 1 tsp
  • Chili sauce 1 tsp
  • Vinegar 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder 1 tsp
  • Egg 1 (beaten)

For Dough
  1. Add all purpose flour, salt, yogurt and butter in a wide bowl and mix. Slowly add water and knead soft dough. Cover dough with damp cloth and leave for 15 minutes.

For Filling
  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté carrot and cabbage then stir in chicken.
  2. Season with soya sauce, chili sauce, vinegar, salt and pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.
  1. Divide the dough in 9 equal parts and roll out in thin flat bread.
  2. Now place 3 breads over wrapping each other. Make 3 sets of bread in this way, using 3 breads in each set.
  3. On one set of breads put filling on wide side and roll all bread at once like a Swiss roll. One roll is ready.
  4. Do the same with other 2 sets of bread.
  5. Take a frying pan, in which you want to cook the borek. Grease it well and place the roll by rolling it in circle.
  6. When first bread is rolled, start rolling the second bread then third. Close the edge.
  7. Apply the egg; sprinkle thyme leaves. Cover and cook on slow flame.
  8. After 10-12 minutes check the down side, if it is golden then flip the borek to other side. Now cook from the other side.
