Butter Chicken

BUTTER CHICKEN



INGREDIENTS:

  •  butter 6 tbsp
  • Chicken breast pieces 1/2 kg
  • Onion, diced 2
  • Garlic cloves, minced 2-3
  • Ginger paste 1 tsp
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • red chili powder 1 tsp
  • ground cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • cayenne pepper flakes 1/2 tsp
  • Tomato paste 1 1/2 cups 
  • Cream 1/2 cup
  • salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder 1/2 tsp
  • Fresh coriander (chopped), for garnishing
  •      Lemon for garnishing

  1. METHOD:
  2. 1. Using 2 Tbsp of butter in a large pan over medium flame, add the pieces of the chicken and cook until each side is browned.
  3. 2. Melt another 2 Tbsp of butter in another pan over medium flame. Add the onion, and cook until golden brown , about 2-3 minutes. Add the salt, black pepper powder, garlic, all spices powder , ginger, chili powder, cumin, and cayenne flakes. Stir to combine, and cook for about 45 seconds before adding the tomato sauce.
  4. 3. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let cook for five minutes before adding the cream. Bring the mixture back to a simmer, add the browned chicken, and let it cook for 10-15 minutes. Keep the heat low here.
  5. 4. Now add  the remaining 2 tbsp of butter. Dish out.
  6. 5. Serve garnished with lemon and coriander, with rice or naan.
